Shattered

Slowly, my heart dies,
     gone is the laughter
     gone is the joy
replaced with the lonliness of pain.

From the darkness, my soul cries out,
     the guiding light
     the beacon in the night
snuffed out with a blanket of despair.

In the depths of sorrow, my spirit drowns,
     today, tomorrow, yesterday
     everything
washed away by tears of anguish.

Shattered fragments,
     like drops of rain
     Of a love,
     that used to be.
