Just Words
Say what you want, do what you feel
It doesn't matter, they are just words
Words cannot touch, they cannot heal
To think that they can, is quite absurd
They pierce through the heart, capture the soul
Nurse the ego, make the bits whole
They paint a picture, sculpt with the mind
Allow any emotion, for a friend to find
They are a gift, given from one to another
They are the way of travel, great distance to cover
They bring together people of the world
Yet how can they, they are just words.
They can start or stop tears
Calm the darkest fears
Create laughter and happiness
Their power is endless
What does it mean, when your love you give
Do you mean what you say? Do you say what you live?
I give you a gift, share a part of me with you
They may be just words, yet they ring true
It's all that I have, just words, nothing more
Into this bottle, I allow my emotions to pour
For I trust you with them, to know what they mean
Tell you my secrets, give you my dreams
When I say that I love you, it not something small
Three tiny words, a risk to the fall
Don't tell me they're nonsense, don't tell me they're grand
Just accept the beauty, just words from my hand.
